Lucknow: The ongoing Civil Defence training programme in the state capital concluded with the successful completion of the third batch of capacity-building training for 90 wardens. The programme was organised by the Civil Defence Organisation to strengthen preparedness and response capabilities during disasters and emergencies.
Vishwajeet Srivastava (IPS), Deputy Commissioner of Police, West Zone, attended the closing ceremony as the chief guest. He was formally welcomed by Chief Warden Amarnath Mishra, who presented him with a bouquet, ceremonial stole and a memento.
Addressing the gathering, DCP Vishwajeet Srivastava said that Civil Defence volunteers play a crucial role in disaster management, emergency situations and maintaining law and order during festivals and large public events. He urged the newly trained wardens to utilise the knowledge and skills gained during training in the interest of society and the nation, and to perform their duties with discipline, readiness and commitment whenever required.
Highlighting emerging challenges, he noted that incidents of cybercrime are increasing rapidly and said that training sessions on cyber awareness have been included in the programme and will continue in future batches as well. He also appreciated the dedicated work of Civil Defence wardens and pointed out that road accidents claim a large number of lives. He added that if wardens wish to receive training in first aid, arrangements can be made through a team of trained doctors.

Presiding over the programme, Chief Warden Amarnath Mishra emphasised the importance of duty, discipline and public service among wardens. He stated that the primary objective of the Civil Defence Organisation is to make citizens aware and prepared for disasters and emergency situations.
He expressed gratitude to all trainers, officials and volunteers for the successful conduct of the training programme and congratulated the wardens who completed the course.
Several officials, trainers and volunteers of the Civil Defence Organisation were present on the occasion, including Staff Officer Ritu Raj Rastogi, DDW Sunil Shukla, Nafees Ahmed, DDW Ram Gopal, Imran, Santosh, ADC Manoj Kumar Verma, Rishi Kumar, Mamta Rani, Rekha, Mukesh and others.
